Terms and Conditions

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ReHousing (Canada) website, online courses, and related digital services (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are operated by ReHousing (Canada) (“ReHousing”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

The Services are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding agreement. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

2. Educational Purpose Only

The Services provide educational content, tools, and general information related to housing, zoning, and gentle density development.

The Services do not constitute legal, architectural, engineering, financial, planning, or other professional advice. Any outputs, assessments, estimates, or certificates generated through the Services are provided for informational and educational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from qualified professionals or for approvals by authorities having jurisdiction.

3. Accounts and Access

To access certain features, including courses offered through Sensei LMS, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

  • provide accurate, current, and complete information;
  • maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials; and
  • notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

Account Suspension or Termination:
We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, misused the Services, or engaged in unlawful or harmful conduct.

You may request account deletion at any time by contacting privacy@rehousing.ca, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.

4. Course Enrolment and Certificates

Course enrolment grants you a limited, non-transferable right to access the course materials for your personal, non-commercial use.

Completion certificates, where offered, confirm participation or completion of a course only. They do not represent professional accreditation, licensing, or certification unless explicitly stated otherwise.

5. Fees and Payments

Some courses or Services may require payment. Prices, payment terms, and refund policies (if any) will be disclosed at the time of purchase.

Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full credit-card information. Your use of payment services is subject to the processor’s own terms and privacy practices.

Except where required by law, all fees are non-refundable.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  1. use the Services for any unlawful purpose;
  2. interfere with or disrupt the integrity or security of the Services;
  3. attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts;
  4. upload or transmit malicious code;
  5. copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or exploit the Services except as expressly permitted;
  6. misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

7. Intellectual Property

All content included in the Services, including course materials, text, graphics, videos, tools, reports, and trademarks, is owned by or licensed to ReHousing and is protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or create derivative works from the Services without our prior written consent, except for limited personal educational use.

8. User-Submitted Content

If you submit content through the Services (such as discussion posts, feedback, or form responses), you grant ReHousing a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display that content solely for operating, improving, or supporting the Services.

You represent that you have the right to submit such content and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information. By using the Services, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in that policy.

10. Availability and Changes to the Services

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

11. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReHousing will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Services.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Services will not exceed the amount paid by you to ReHousing for the Services in the twelve months preceding the claim, or CAD $100 if no fees were paid.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ReHousing, its directors, officers, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

14. Dispute Resolution

Before initiating a formal dispute, you agree to contact us at support@rehousing.ca with a brief written description of the issue. We will attempt to resolve the matter informally within 30 days.

Mediation and Arbitration
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be resolved through confidential, binding arbitration administered by the Canadian Arbitration Association (CAA) under its applicable rules.

  1. Seat and venue: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (unless agreed otherwise)
  2. Arbitrator: A single neutral arbitrator
  3. Governing law: Ontario law and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein

Except where prohibited by law, arbitration is the exclusive forum for resolving disputes.

Class Action Waiver
All disputes must be brought on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in a class, collective, or representative action.

Small Claims
Either party may bring an individual claim in Ontario Small Claims Court if the claim qualifies and seeks monetary relief only.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
